The artificial intelligence (AI) is a buzzword in many speeches related technology today. Automated cars, high-end robotics, AI-based traffic management, smart grid maintenance, etc.
These are some of the aspects we refer to when we talk about
AI, something that seems to be futuristic. AI is already real and we have it at
our fingertips in our daily lives .
1. Transportation and navigation
At some point in our life we have used browsers, online maps
and other similar services. For some, this is part of daily life. Whether it is
using maps to navigate or using a taxi rental service like Uber, when using AI
services to get from one place to another.
Google, Apple and many other service providers related to navigation use AI to interpret the metrics they receive and provide you with information that helps you navigate and also allows you to get real-time traffic updates, helping you move more efficiently.
2. Smartphone applications
Imagining our life without mobile phones is a challenge.
Various applications on our mobile phones have become an integral part of our
daily lives. Many of these applications are based on artificial intelligence.
Smart voice assistants built into our phones, such as Alice,
Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, are the most obvious examples of AI that
many of us know and use.
Mobile technology platforms are increasingly developing
solutions that use AI to control various aspects of the device, such as battery
management, event alerts, etc. One of the standard features, such as using
portrait mode on a phone, also uses AI.
Currently, AI-enabled services make up an important part of
updates on iOS and Android platforms .
3. Social media news feed
Whether it's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other
platforms, what you see and do in those apps is highly dependent on machine
learning. AI has a lot of control over the feeds you see when you browse these
platforms or receive notifications .
Take into account your tastes and preferences, your history,
etc., to feed information to the channels that are most relevant to you and
that you want to see.
4. Advertising
How many times have you asked yourself, when you saw an
online ad, was I thinking of buying this product ?
That is the job of AI.
There is no magic here where the AI reads your mind. Just
record what you do online . Products you view are crawled across various
shopping sites or search engines, and then targeted by ads related to those
products.
The AI also uses information related to demographic data
such as your age, gender, occupation, etc., to determine the product ads that
are likely to be of your preference.
5. Smart cars
Another area where AI is gaining presence in our daily lives
is in smart cars .
Not only are companies like Tesla using automation
technology in vehicles , but many automakers are also looking at integrating AI
into cars to provide a seamless experience of the various technologies
available.
Information is shared and transferred between vehicles to
better maneuver in traffic conditions. Traffic input, real-time information
from roadblocks, etc. Information is instantly transmitted to alert other
vehicles on the network, allowing you to redirect your route.
AI enables people to be more productive and live better.
Technology improves day by day and, therefore, AI has more and more influence
in our daily lives.
